Learn how to fully close an app from your mobile phone's recent apps, so it stops running in the background.

Steps for Android

  1. View open apps

    Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and stop somewhere in the middle so that all open apps appear.

  2. Close the app

    Swipe the preview of the app you want to close upward, to the left, or to the right, depending on your phone, to close it completely.

  3. Close all apps together

    There is also the option to close them all together by tapping the “X” button that appears in the list of open apps.
