Accessibility Statement
This is an accessibility statement from CYENS Centre of Excellence
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Digital Kin is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Additional accessibility considerations
Beyond WCAG 2.1 level AA, this website uses a minimum size of 44 by 44 pixels for anything you can click or tap, compared with the 24 by 24 the standard requires. Fonts are hosted on this website, so loading a page sends no request to a third party. Videos stay unloaded until you press play, and YouTube receives nothing before then.

Technical specifications
Accessibility of Digital Kin relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Digital Kin , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for Digital Kin:
- The accessibility panel, opened from the button at the bottom right of every page: About twenty controls inside the panel have a border contrast of 1.4:1, below the required 3:1 because The panel is a third-party component that we host ourselves and have adapted; this shortfall is in its own styling. It is recorded as an accepted limitation. The website is built to conform without the panel. Every function of the website is available without opening the panel.
- Downloadable PDF booklets: The PDF booklets offered for download are designed print documents and may not be fully accessible because they are produced as print booklets and published here in their printed form. The same content is available as accessible web pages on this website.
Assessment approach
CYENS Centre of Excellence assessed the accessibility of Digital Kin by the following approaches:
- Self-evaluation
- This is a self-evaluation by the developer, based on measurements of the rendered pages. On 12 August 2026, the developer checked 22 combinations of route and language for heading structure, the skip link, landmark names, page titles, image text alternatives and target sizes. Keyboard focus visibility was checked across 798 focus stops. Reflow and text spacing were measured at a width of 320 pixels with text at 100%, 150% and 200%. There has been no screen reader testing, no automated scan and no external audit.
