Create a Group Chat

Learn how to create a group chat in Messenger so you can easily communicate with more than one loved one at a time.

Find Messenger
Swipe through the Home Screen to find Messenger.
Open the app
Tap the Messenger app icon.
Tap the button at the top-right
Tap the button at the top-right to create a new group.
Tap “Group Chat”
Select the group-chat option.
Choose the people
Search for and tap the names of the people you want to add, then tap “Next”.
Name the group
Tap the field that says “Group name” and give the group a name.
Tap “Create”
Finish creating the group by tapping the button.
Tap the message field
Tap the field where you write your message.
Write your message
Type the message you want to send.
Send the message
Tap Send. Your message has been sent to your new group.
